STUB PIPES

    Tangerine Stub Pipes Features:

     Allows for accurate port match and flow bench work.
     Greatly enhances exhaust flow when coupled with good port work.
     May be fully installed during engine assembly.
     Makes exhaust header installation much easier.
       Our flanges are precision laser cut, not stamped.
    
All our stub pipes are welded in precision fixtures and milled flat at both ends.
      
Pipes mate with step cut in header flange for a perfect seal.
     Exhaust leaks at the port are minimized.


Available in three performance levels - Stock, Improved, Modified 

  • Stock Stubbies are made from 1 1/2" od heavy wall T304 stainless tube.
    (a thinwall stainless version is available) 
     
     

  • Improved Stub Pipes are carefully tapered from
    the exhaust port up to 1 5/8" OD at the flange end. 
    Made with .065" wall thickness T321 stainless steel. 
    Carefully dimpled for pushrod tube clearance.
     

  • Modified Stubbies are smoothly tapered from
    the exhaust port up to 1 3/4" OD at the flange end. 
    Made with .065" wall thickness T321 stainless steel. 
    Carefully dimpled for pushrod tube clearance.

     

    HEADERS

  • The 4-2-1 design of Tangerine EVO Headers is optimum for generating the most torque compared to any 4-1 header design. 
    A breakthrough in collector design allows shorter and more precise pipe lengths without crossing under the sump. 

     


    Header configurations are available for most Type IV applications:
    mid and rear engine, pancake and upright,
    original, conversion or kit car. 
    Does not interfere with deep sump or "Tuna Can" oil reservoirs.
    Optimum ground clearance is retained.
    An O2 sensor fitting is included on all headers.

     

     

     

    Tangerine EVO Headers are available in 4 primary sizes: 1 1/2" (Stock), 1 5/8" (Improved), 1 3/4" (Modified), 1 7/8" (Mega)

    MUFFLERS

     Tangerine EVO Silencers are designed specifically for use with a Tangerine Header and are available for track or street use. 
    These special Silencers effectively reduce sound levels without significant loss of power
    All Silencers are made of 100% T304 Stainless Steel.
     


    Stage I Silencer

    Straight pipes are too loud for some race sanctioning bodies. 
    Stage I Silencers reduce sound below 95db in most applications. 
    This is still too loud for daily driving but perfect for track events.
    Available in 2 1/8" and 2 1/4" inlet to fit our 1 5/8" and 1 3/4" headers.


     

     

     

     

     

    EVO II Silencers (primarily for street use) can be configured for nearly any Type 4 application with a variety of tailpipe options.

                        
     

    Four distinct sound attenuation techniques are applied
    within the 6" diameter stainless body.
    Using the EVO II Silencer will make your car quiet enough for
    daily street use, below 89db, without compromising performance. 
    On a 150hp, 1.8L race engine no measurable difference in
    ouput was observed during back-to-back Dynojet runs
    between the Stage I and EVO II silencers on a Porsche 914.

    COATINGS

     


    High Temperature Alumino-Ceramic Coating inside and out
    is a standard feature on Tangerine EVO Headers.
    Coating done by Central CT Coatings of East Hartford, CT.
    Recommended for heat retention, appearance and longevity!

     

     

     

     


     

    High temperature metallic
    coating for mufflers,
    improves appearance.
